Introduction to the show:

MAJOR DAMAGE is 3 minutes of rock-em, sock-em super-hero mahem about a monster fighting super-hero, and a little boy who is his #1 fan.

MAJOR DAMAGE was influenced by Harvey (MAD Magazine) Kurtzman's SUPERDUPERMAN, Marie Severin's INEDIBLE BULK from Marvel's NOT BRAND ECHH and the STAN LEE and JACK KIRBY monster comics from the 50s (Who could forget Tim Boo Baa, Kra, the Unhuman and Fing Fang Foom?) Superheroes and giant tikis are a blast and we had fun animating them in 3-D. From the funtastic Melvin trying to con his mother into staying up late to the fantastic living tikis, "Major Damage" is what we think cartoons should be!

MAJOR DAMAGE began as a modest 2 1/2 minute, computer generated garage project with a group of friends and colleagues, and expanded into a modest 2 1/2 minute garage project representing animation talent from around the world. Using the internet to trade files, the crew worked between the cracks of our days jobs to create this superhero slam fest! MAJOR DAMAGE previewed at SIGGRAPH (www.siggraph.org) on August 14, 2001, in Los Angeles at the Hewlett Packard (www.hp.com), Alias|Wavefront (www.aw.sgi.com) and Nothing Real (www.nothingreal.com) booths on the exhibition floor. The screen debut is not far away. You'll soon be able to find MAJOR DAMAGE at a film festival near you!
