A concept for a half hour animated series. Hip House is a Hip Hop cartoon suitable for children as well as adults. This cartoon is multi-ethnic. Although the central characters will be African-American, their friends, co-workers, neighbors are of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Voices will be provided by real life rap stars. Shaggy, a platinum Reggae/Rap artist has agreed to be the voice of Wisdom. (See next page for character description). Other Rappers will make guest appearances and episodes will be featured around them. The show will concentrate on the trials and triumphs of an inner city urban family who despite everything play together and stay together. They have strong family values and instill good morals in their children. The overall theme is keeping the community safe and fun for everyone. Each episode will emphasize a strong moral theme such as fairness, honesty, team work, compassion, community and courage. These themes will be couched in an urban background to the beat of hip hop with some island flavor thrown in for spice. The theme song will feature Shaggy and a popular rapper. Episodes will start off with popular classic rap songs with the lyrics changed to fit the theme of the episode. Hip hop music and merchandise are highly marketable at this time as evidenced by the commercial success of clothing, music and programming which has hip hop influence. Recent market research has shown that the audience for hip hop is a strong consumer market. Hip hoppers encompass a broad demographic transcending several age and cultural groups. Hip hoppers purchase fast food, soft drinks, clothing, music, movies, cars, toys, etc. There is plenty of opportunity for commercial endorsements and spinoffs. This cartoon has a universal appeal and an innovative concept which is sure to be ground breaking and commercially successful.
