Question #2
2) What would have been on your WISH LIST for this project? Expalin each item and why you chose it.
-Christopher Janney (Scene Planner): Time: Wasn't any. More "render only" machines. PVR: Better playback. DAT backup system.
-Blake (Assistant Animator): Softimage 3D at home.
-Kellie-Bea Rainey (Producer): External work email for everyone on the project, ISDN for all artists would be great. At least one dedicated T1 line for data rangling. A few skilled helpers to assist with management. At least a production manager and a production coordinator. A few runners would have definately come in handy. We could have used a set of storyboards plus seperate layouts. Worked out okay this time with just he storyboards. I wish to request at least a few months for production planning. We went from story to "We gotta get this done by SIGGRAPH". . Many on the team had never done a high end independant film, before and a comfrehensive production plan could have help them track what was going on when.
-Patrick Lowery (Lead Animator ACT III): more time, everyone having midi controllers for facials etc, good telecommuting, open chains of communication, stuff like that.
-Rachel Levine (Assistant Animator): More computers so I wouldn't have to travel to the someone else's house or office to use theirs. If I had one designated to me, I could get a lot more animation done! :)
-Sandi Frame (Character Designer/Storyboard Artist): An actual studio space. Why? So computers could be set up and stayed set up. We did this out of our garage! Organization of communication could be better.
-Doug Cooper (Technical Director): Time of course. More time to plan and streamline things would have been great. We were lucky to be working with such a sharp group of people. Everyone we had got an immediate jump start into productive work, and we just solved our technical and production problems as they arose. If we'd had more time to develope and plan things earlier it might have been a bit smoother.
